The ritual pouring of liquid offering (wine, honey, oil, water) done by overturning and emptying the vessel that contained the liquid. When the choe was addressed to the chthonic deities, pleas or prayers were also recited, whereas when the choai (pl.) were part of the burial ritual, lament songs or mourning cries were additionally performed.
